The Colewater River Canoe and Kayak Trail meanders from Mississippi Highway 309 westward to US Highway 51 at Arkabutla Lake, just south of Hernando, DeSoto County, Mississippi.

Hernando DeSoto Park
Location: Situated right on the banks of the river just north of Lake Comorant, the 41 acre DeSoto County River Park, (formerly Bass Landing), is DeSoto County’s only public access to the Mississippi River.
